It's Official

I have joined everyone in the Twitter world. I figured why not! I had been using my Facebook status like Twitter so why not just get a Twitter account.

Something happened on the way from the dentist

I walked to the bus stop this morning after my appointment when I happened upon a five dollar bill folded and laying on the ground.

I thought, “Sweet! $5 rules”.

I picked up the money and unfolded it to put it in my wallet when I find this white powdery substance.

I think to myself. “This can’t be what I think it is”. Then I think, “You’ve been watching too much CSI it could be anything”.

So needless to say emptied the substance on the ground and wadded the money back up. I’m going to wash it when I get home today and let it dry.

Dental Implants 101

I'm now the proud owner of a new dental implant for tooth #13. Many of you know of my dental issues. I finally was able to get in to the oral surgeon (apparently everyone wants a dental implant, not sure why, although having bionic teeth does sound pretty cool). The procedure wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I was thinking it would be horrible. Pictured below is what the implant looks like before it is placed in your mouth. They look like tiny screws. The cap on my implant does not stick up as far as the ones below.

So far so good. I thought it would be worse. There is a little pain and throatiness but other than that it is pretty good. I can't really chew on the left side but that will get better in time.

Below is a picture of how my teeth will look after I have the crown placed which won't happen for another three months. I'm hoping that this is the last dental stuff I have to worry about for awhile.


Here's my dental impression of a MasterCard commercial.

Having root canal = $400
Crown on tooth = $800
Cracking tooth on corn nuts and having tooth pulled = $250
Dental implant = $2100
Crown for implant = $800

NOT LOOKING LIKE A TOOTHLESS OLD WOMAN = PRICELESS!!!
